Curly Hair

Utilize whatever natural wave you have in your hair and enhance those wannabe waves!

While hair is still damp, apply a curl-enhancing mousse or volumizing lotion. Start to scrunch hair upward while blow-drying from beneath. Once hair is dry, use a pick to tease hair gently to achieve that radiant style and create the appearance of tousled curls.

Nothing is more tousled and romantic than soft undefined curls. Romantic curls and soft spirals are a great way to add texture to a mane while still looking slightly "unstyled." To create soft curls, use a medium-barreled curling iron to twist small sections of locks into shape. Once the curls are set, tousle with gel-coated fingers, to seal in the shape, but also give a more hap-hazard appearance to the 'do.

Volume and loose curls create an outstanding style that is both business-like and feminine. Undulating strands are swept up and away from the roots for amazing volume. Extreme height is achieved by blow-drying tresses away from the roots and sealing them in place with a strong-hold styling gel.

Large spiraling curls can be achieved with a medium barreled curling iron or set of heated rollers. Use a touch of styling gel on strands before wrapping them around either the iron or rollers to help them set. Carefully release the sections from the rollers or iron and use a pick to separate the new ringlets.

Even if you don't have naturally curly hair you can achieve spirals of your dreams! You can create luscious locks with medium-barreled hot rollers. Set your tresses in the rollers with just a touch of styling pomade and allow to completely dry. When hair is set, remove the rollers and use a pick or the end of a rat tailed comb to separate the strands.

To create a traffic-stopping hairstyle start curls from the root, but leave the ends uncurled. It's natural to curl the hair from the bottom up, but the result will look as if you've set your hair with hot rollers. To achieve an updated look, flip-flop the technique and curl from the top down. Begin with a pomade or thermal setting spray. Comb evenly throughout your hair and section the top third of your hair  out of the way, working in horizontal sections around your head. Pick up a section about one to two inches, comb through, and begin to curl hair, starting near the scalp. Gently loosen the iron's grip on the hair while spinning the iron. Continue to loosen the grip and spin until the ends reach the iron. Curl the ends, but do not comb or brush out. Instead, leave the curls fresh. Continue this technique around the head, working horizontally, pulling down the middle third of the hair, and finally the top third. Finish with a fast drying hair spray.
