Tousled Textured and Wavy Long Hair

If a ponytail isn't the look for you, keeping your long hair tousled and textured may be just the style you are looking for. David Barron lists several suggestions he recommends to his clients at Barron's London Salon in Atlanta, GA.

"For a quick textured effect when you only have minutes to spare in the morning, twist your long hair up while slightly damp, then apply make-up and get dressed while it dries. Then simply unravel and add in Aquage Defining Gel for definition.

You can create a messed-up effect by working CHI Styling Polish through the ends of layered long hair, then use your fingers to softly 'backcomb' the lengths to build volume and texture.

Contrasts of textures throughout long hair can look especially effective. Try smoothing the roots of your long hair keeping the mid-lengths and ends curled or a straight bang with beachy waves."

Perhaps your long hair has a more romantic flair. Waves are the perfect look, whether you're at home or abroad. They're sexy, wearable and best of all, anyone can have them! Try out these suggestions David Barron has for creating mermaid waves!

"First things first, invest in a good hair product to create the surf babe look for your long hair. I recommend using Aquage Defining Gel. It will suit almost every hair type and is excellent for controlling fly aways yet holding a natural style.

Use your straightening iron to create loose, flowing waves in your long hair. Simply clamp your long hair, then rotate the irons through 180 degrees and pull through the lengths. Voila! Beachy texture and not a sandcastle in sight!

Salt sprays are great for adding texture and definition to long hair and look great
misted through waves. Just scrunch in and build up product until you achieve the desired effect.

The most modern way to wear waves in long hair is smooth at the roots and textured
through the mid-lengths and ends. Try blow-drying hair straight, then adding the waves in afterwards with curling tongs."
